accused of robbing toll takers on the carquinez bridge. terry mcsweeney joins us live. >> reporter: they just announced three suspects are in custody for the crime spree that began in the fall last year to the spring of this year all suspects from vallejo. this happened carquinez bridge toll chp says the three in custody would drive up to the booths, usually show weapons, demand money and off they would go. complicating the investigation they wore ski masks and driving stolen cars. i asked how they found the suspects? >> it has been a year and a half long investigation. i work with vallejo police and figured out who were the car thiefs in vallejo and figured out who was who and we had evidence and the evidence was submitted and went from there. >> reporter: the three men are 30-year-old chris miller, 43-year-old robert white, 47-year-old david morales, tied to three of the 10 robberies that occurred. the entire 10 robberies netted $ ,000. according -- netted $6,000. according to the investigators, more arrests are expected. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. >>> new information on homicid

with that breaking news, what could be a pretty serious escalation in tensions between the u.s. and iran. >> it centers, this morning, a report, that the iranians have captured an unmanned american drone. for the very latest, we're joined from london by abc's nick schifrin. good morning, nick. >> reporter: good morning, rob. good morning, paula. we have no comment on this from the u.s. but the iranians claim they brought down what's known as a scan eagle drone, after it violated iranian air space. it's right now in an iranian studio. it's a small surveillance drone. u.s. navy captains used them to watch their own ships. this is not an armed drone. if the iranians brought it down, the u.s. will see that as a very aggressive action. last month, the iranians tried to shoot down a u.s. drone in the same place. almost exactly a year ago, the iranians brought down a high-tech drone, one used by the cia. that was inside iranian territory. as you said, this will raise tensions in a very sensitive area. u.s. has thousands of service members in the gulf, just a few miles from iran. and the u.s. co

learning his life was in imminent danger. now, u.s. official tells abc news that it appears that the militants were preparing to take joseph to neighboring pakistan. that's why general john allen, the top commander in afghanistan ordered the raid himself saying quote, today's mission exemplifies our unwavering commitment to defeating the taliban. dan, we didn't hear about this kidnapping when it happened on wednesday, because coalition officials were so worried about his safety that we were working to keep all of this under wraps. when you talk about the military in afghanistan, we sometimes forget that there are thousands of civilians in afghanistan, working as trainers, instructors, or in this case, as a doctor, this doctor was working in a remote base, trying to set up remote medical facilities. because he was doing training there. because he wasn't part of the military, oftentimes the civilians go there and they really put their lives literally on the front line because they just don't have the support and the firepower that the american military does. >> it is extraordi
